Unit Overview
The four chapters of this unit introduce students to a culture region in which a large percentage of the world’s people live. The countries in this region share the following features:
- High population densities
- Deadly natural hazards--typhoons, volcanoes, floods, earthquakes
- Expanding economies
- Rich natural resources
- Ancient religions and cultures
