The Day You Were Born Project
Project Description

Create a PowerPoint that includes the following elements:

1. A title slide
2. The meaning and origins of your legal name, your middle name, and your surname (last name)
3. Other vital statistics
• the when (date – include day of week), where (place), time (approximate hour) of your birth
• Your length and weight at birth
• How old you are in days (include “as of” what date)
• The phase of the moon when you were born
• A baby picture or two if you can find some
4. Literary giants (famous authors, artists, or critics) who were born the same day you were. Be sure to include information about a famous work or works.
5. Other famous people (actors, public figures, politicians, etc.) born on your birthday. Again, give us some information about why they are famous or well known.
6. List 5 major world, national, or local events that happened on your birthday or during the year you were born. Be sure to give some background information about each event.
7. List 5 major sports events that happened the year you were born.
8. Include a “Fact Page” that lists who was President of the United States, what the weather was, and what books and songs were popular that year. If you can, try to list some economic information as well—prices of regular items or cultural elements that happened in that year (fads and crazes)
9. Include a Works Cited page that lists your sources by title, author, date, and web address in MLA format (examples will be provided).
