Adding Sound Files to PowerPoint

• Copy (Don’t cut!) the desired sound file into the same folder with the saved PowerPoint file.
• Insert =>  Sound  =>  From File
• Locate the sound in the folder and insert it onto the desired PowerPoint slide.
• If the file doesn’t display, change the type of file searched to “All Files” - the sound should appear
• Click “yes” to play the sound automatically

Configure Sounds

Be sure the sound plays when you click it on your slide. That means the link between the PPT and file is working. If the PPT file and the sound file are not in the same folder, the sounds will not work.

Custom Animation

• Click the down arrow in the Custom Animation panel
• Change Effect Options to determine how long (through how many slides) the sound should play. Other settings, like timing, also exist.
• Add an animation effect With Previous to trigger the sound. Reassign animations to the next two or three animations on the slide to make the group run smoothly.
