Try-Out Performance Final list will be posted morning of Dec. 21
Expectations:
Team members will represent Knoxville Junior High appropriately and will dress nicely for meets (no jeans).
Members will be expected to utilize study guides and on-line practice activities.
Members will be expected to attend practices (we will work with other activities) and all meets.
Categories of Expertise:
Try-outs will be held in December for Scholastic Bowl. A 7th and an 8th grade team will be chosen to compete against other conference teams. Scholastic Bowl is a team Jeopardy-style competition. All students are welcome to try out, as many different subjects and levels of expertise are needed for the whole team. The questions include not only academic subjects like math, English, etc., but there are also questions about elective courses and general topics like current events, sports, and music. To try out, students must attend three of the try-out dates listed in the newsletter and must take a qualifying test. Teacher recommendations will also be considered in choosing the teams. Any questions should be directed to Miss Olson, the sponsor for both the 7th and 8th grade teams. Good luck!
